Description
Saxophonist Tempo's 1st solo credited LP from 1956.
On UK London label HB-U1075.
A collection of early rock 'n' roll saxophone instrumentals.
DISC - play graded on project expression 3 turn table. This 55 year old record has many light paper scuffs and marks, yet retains a good sheen. There is one feelable scratch on side B end of band 1 beginning of band 2, which clicks 10 to 12 times but does not stick or jump. Background crackle audible but does not detract from the music which is loud and comes through clearly with minimal distortion. The sound is crisp and trebley and is typical of the era. The stamped matrix number is DXL-662-1E, machine stamped in both run-out grooves. I grade the disc according to the Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide as Very Good (VG).
Labels - original plum-coloured London labels. Some spindle wear, but no tears or handwriting.
SLEEVE - Laminated front and back, with top and bottom flip backs. Thin, flimsy card, typical of the era. Has slight moisture damage, resulting in slight staining and rippling of back cover. Corners knocked and sleeve opening slightly foxed. Front photo is clear with slight ringwear and two small tears (one at top by title text, other on sleeve opening). Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide grade Very Good (VG). The side picture of the sleeve looks worse in the picture than real life!
Inner Sleeve - original poly-lined die-cut sleeve, minimal staining.
A very rare item, realistically graded and priced at £200 or best offer.
