For auction is an ultra rare original 1972 UK Issue of Nick Drake’s third and final album Pink Moon.
A-1U/B-1U matrices.
All complete and all in superb condition, which is so rare for original copies.
Gatefold cover is excellent, with hardly any fading or wear. Spine fully intact and readable.
Notes from Discogs for this 1972 issue
“UK pressing released on a ''Pink Rim'' Island label with a blue inner sleeve in a fold-out cover containing the lyrics.
On the back of the cover, bottom right edge: "Printed in England by Robor Limited" and under the big "i" : "island records"
The hard to find blue Island inner sleeve is present and in great condition.
The record appears practically immaculate in normal daylight and also under bright lights. Superb unmarked glossy sheen. I could see no hairlines or scuffs.
Labels are clean and in excellent condition.
Play test shows superb playback with no clicks, sticks or jumps and barely more than a handful of light crackles throughout the whole record. Has to be graded EX+. Incredible for a 47 year old record.
This copy will grace anybody’s collection, from avid Drake fans to the most serious of record collectors. So rare to see these originals in such great condition.
I do not send any items to the Russian Federation due to previous delivery issues.
On 04-Aug-19 at 16:40:43 BST, seller added the following information:As far as I can tell this is a 1st U.K. press. From research, including various blogs and from Discogs it would seem there are 2 variants of the first issue with relation to the sleeve rather than the actual record.
One version has the sleeve printing credit as Tinsley Robor
My copy is from the other variant sleeve with credit to Robor Limited.
