Description

For auction is a rare and super condition 2nd issue U.K. copy of Nick Drake’s stunning debut album - Five Leaves Left. These 1972 reissues are almost as rare as the original issues from 1969. Drake was still to be recognised for the genius we now know he is.

Original Robor gatefold sleeve in at least VG+ condition, with only minor edge wear and fading to the unlaminated surface. Minor spine wear but fully legible.

Original light blue inner in VG condition, with small tear to opening.

Record labels - side 1 is EX-, with minor mark which isn’t a tear or ink - maybe manufacturing issue. Side 2 label excellent and unmarked.

Side 1. Visually record surface is clean, bright and shiny with no marks visible in either normal daylight or under a bright lamp. A-3U matrix and 1P stamper. Sonically is superb with only very occasional very light crackle. No clicks, sticks skips or jumps.Graded as EX+

Side 2. In normal daylight is as clean as side 1, but under bright lamp one can see a scuff mark and on track one a very small mark. These do not effect sound quality apart from a few very occasional light crackles and a couple of light pops. No sticks skips or jumps. B-3U matrix and 1O stamper. Graded as EX-.

Record lays perfectly flat on the turntable.

All in all a beautiful and very clean example of a rare and sought after record.

The final photo is from the back of a first issue sleeve with EJ Day credits.

Added by mistake to this listing - the sleeve for this copy is as described above, and in the first photos, a Robor credited sleeve.
