Full Description:
Here is an extremely rare opportunity to own a first pressing of Nick Drake's seminal first album Five Leaves Left from 1969 with the block Island logo in black on a pink background on the labels.
This is the even more scarce version with the songs Day is Done and Way to Blue misprinted in the wrong order on the rear sleeve (the label is correct with Way To Blue followed by Day is Done).

Condition report
Media:
Vinyl has no nasty marks. There is some swirling on both sides consistent with moderate/normal use and some hairline marks, ranging from light to very light. The most obvious of these are 2 lines across tracks 1,2 and 3 of Side One. But to reiterate there's nothing nasty here and in fact the vinyl still retains a nice shine.
The record plays without any skips or jumps. There is a moderate amount of background crackle consistent with moderate usage, age and the fact that the record has many soft/quiet passages, inevitably making the background noise more noticeable. But again to repeat, the record plays well without skips or jumps and retains that beautiful warm tone as when recorded 50 years ago.
Overall grade: Good+
Sleeve:
Gatefold sleeve
There is some evidence of water damage, mostly affecting the lower third of the inside covers, which make it feel somewhat rippled to the touch and when caught in the light. This rippling can also be seen when looking at the open end of the sleeve. Some fairly light water staining can be seen on the inside (plain cardboard) of both openings. The only staining that is noticeable to the printed sides is a small amount on the lower part of the rear sleeve which in fact blends in pretty inobtrusively with the sepia tones of the design.
There is also some damage to the front sleeve below the album title, likely caused by sticker removal.
General wear and tear is also evident to the sleeve with the edges and spine having multiple small bumps. The artist, album title and catalogue number remain readable on the spine.
All these issues are shown in the photographs, please study these as they form part of the description.
Hopefully I've made the flaws with the sleeve sound worse than they are but obviously they are there.
Overall I would grade the sleeve as Good.
Record is housed in a generic inner sleeve and has been stored in a protective clear sleeve.
This is an exceptionally rare item as well as being a superb and hugely significant album in the history of British popular music.
