1969 UK 1st PRESSING 'PINK BLOCK LABEL' ISLAND LP

**POLYDOR PRESSING WITH TEXTURED LABELS**

Pressed by Polydor just before Island switched contracts to EMI, this early copy has the very rare 'textured' labels on both sides.

This rare 1969 early first pressing is on the textured pink 'block' UK Island label: ILPS 9105

Housed in the unlaminated gatefold cover printed by 'E.J. Day'.
The rear cover reverses side 1 tracks 5 and 6. The disc plays them opposite order.
Complete with original white poly-lined inner-sleeve.

Flawless surfaces showing absolutely no scuffs, scratches or marks of any kind. It appears essentially 'as new'.
100% flat on the turntable without any signs of dishing or warping.

Audio: NEAR MINT

Carefully and very seldom played, this copy sounds superb without any crackle or groovewear distortion whatsoever.
Apart from a few soft 'ticks' on 'River Man' there really is little to fault on the entire disc.
All the music is rich, warm and clear and of course there are no jumps or repeats.
A rare pleasure to listen to and tough to upgrade.


Cover: EXCELLENT MINUS

A clean and strong example of this rare cover with just light handling and storage wear.
The front panel does have a small (1cm) section of missing paper and a few light spine wrinkles but no heavy creases, 'thumbnails' or ringwear.
The corners display just some light storagewear but the opening edge is clean, sharp and virtually unworn with no tears or 'feathering'.
The inside gatefold is in perfect shape with no writing, marks or missing paper.
The rear panel is also in superb shape with just a light rub to the upper left edge but no marks or writing present or removed.
The seams are strong and unsplit and although the spine bears some light wear it is clean and readable.
