New Order "Low-Life" RARE FRENCH PRESSING, 1985, NEAR MINT (Virgin 70366). Right out of a time capsule. I bought this LP at FNAC (the most famous music store in France) in Les Halles in Paris in 1985 and have played it (on an audiophile turntable!) maybe 10x total. Its condition, in all practical terms, is mint, but I'm listing it as NM to be totally conservative. It is unblemished and plays perfectly. The real value of this item is twofold: the quality of the European pressing which, as we all knew at the time, is unequaled, AND the rarity of this pressing. I have not seen another copy of this pressing anywhere, on any audiophile site, etc.
The uniqueness of this item can be verified by the black labels on both sides of the record. I do not believe any other pressing had this particular trait. Anyway, as I say, an amazing vinyl artifact, probably un-findable elsewhere. Some trivia: as the sticker indicates, I paid 67 francs for this LP (obviously before the EU went to the Euro); that was about $8.50 then - which is about $24 today!
