New Order - Live at Polytechnic Of Central London + Flyer.
Unusual vinyl from New Order, eight live tracks from the Central London Polytechnic gig (6th December 1985) plus one from the Fulcrum Centre in Slough (7th December 1985). The album is entitled More Than Despair and is on PCL records with the no. AID 586. As always with New Order gigs and I attended quite a few, you never knew what you were going to get, sometimes shambolic, sometimes inspiring but always exciting, always loud and different every time. There are a few verbal altercations between Bernard and the audience. It begins a bit lack-lustre but soon warms up and on "Procession" and "Sunrise" they are at their best with some X-rated ad-libbing from Bernard on a superb "Lonesome Tonight". There is a new track "Weirdo" later included on the "Brotherhood" album at the beginning of side which they cock-up a bit, a storming version of "Perfect Kiss" and a superb performance of the old Joy Division favourite "She's Lost Control". The recording quality although very occassionally a little variable, it is generally extemely good for a live gig. The vinyl was purchased at the Bradford, St. Georges Hall gig (28th February 1986) and included is a flyer from the five gigs of the Winter 1986 tour of Wolverhampton, Bradford, Warrington, Brighton and Poole. A recommended album for any New Order enthusiast.

Condition: Record: Excellent +. Although I cannot see any significant marks there is a very light two groove click at the end of track two side two, nothing significant nor anything to interfere with the listening pleasure. Sleeve: Excellent +. Very light crease top right. Feint mark around the rim. Label: Not a mark. Flyer: Perfect.
