Here is the original 16 track UK/ European Double LP/ Album Weld by Neil Young from 1991. Housed in a gatefold sleeve & released on Reprise Records, the Catalogue Number is 7599-26671-1. The records are housed within plain inner sleeves. The track listing is Hey Hey My My (Into The Black), Crime In The City, Blowin’ In The Wind, Love To Burn, Welfare Mothers, Cinnamon Girl, Mansion On The Hill, F*!#in’ Up, Farmer John, Cortez The Killer, Powderfinger, Love And Only Love, Role Another Number, Rockin’ In The Free World, Like A Hurricane & Tonight’s The Night. The package was made in Germany for UK/ European release. PLEASE NOTE: In order to show as much detail as possible, some pictures have been merged together to create single images (e.g. views of opened gatefold sleeve, views of records in inner sleeves, views of records out of inner sleeves, matrix numbers from all sides, views of Record One labels).

The Matrix Numbers are described using a clock face. The first part is the main body of the Matrix Number. It will be at 6 o’clock if it is located in front of the label with the writing curving away from me at the ends (as I look) and at 12 o’clock if it is located behind the label with the writing curving towards me at the ends (as I look). Other times give a rough idea of where additional parts of the Matrix Number are located, in relation to the main part. It’s not meant to be foolproof, just to give an idea of where the various parts of the matrix are, in relation to each other.

Condition as follows including photographs: The sleeve is in very good condition, due to slight creasing, wear & slight discoloration. There are some small nicks to the back sleeve. The plain inner sleeves are in very good condition. There is evidence that the package may have come into contact with water, as the edge of the sleeve & part of the inner sleeves are a little wavy. Record One is in excellent minus condition while Record Two is in excellent condition. All four sides play through well, with no jumping, skipping or sticking. The overall sound is quite good. There are no loud noises or clicks. There is surface noise (crackle?) throughout, which is pretty much continuous. It is most noticeable in quieter passages, between tracks &/ or at the start/ end of each side. It is less noticeable during louder passages, but is still there. At its worst, I thought the surface noise was on the limit of what could be considered an acceptable level. In other places it is barely noticeable, & is not intrusive. Some people may consider this invasive, while others may find that it does not affect their listening pleasure. I always expect some sound from records. See below for NOTES ON CONDITION*.

*NOTES ON CONDITION: I grade according to the Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide & will not necessarily list all individual points in the written description. There will be a blanket grade for each component (sleeve, record etc), which smaller factors fall into. The general appearance will be clearly visible in the photographs. Please study the photographs in detail as they form the bulk of the description. Please be aware that play grading is based on my interpretation of what I hear on my system only. Although it is an honest assessment, it does not automatically follow that you would reach the same conclusion when listening on your own system, as there are so many variables. I DON’T use Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide categories when play grading, just my own judgement.
