Description
On offer is a new and still factory sealed 4 x vinyl LP box of 'Official Release Series Discs 1 - 4' by Neil Young, with some slight cosmetic imperfections below the shrink wrap on the upper rear corners of the bottom tray and a small split to the right edge of the bottom tray (located about half way up, about 3 inches long).
Released back in 2009 as a worldwide limited numbered edition of only 3000 copies, this super rare set is numbered 000898. Each of the albums contained within the box has the same corresponding number stamped into the rear of the sleeve. I have included 2 photos of another copy I have which is open (number 841 in the photos on my listing) to show the stamping/numbering. It is a beautiful looking and sounding set, with great care taken in the production and packing too, with faithful reproductions of the original covers (and inserts for the Harvest album, too). This attention to detail is also demonstrated by the bubble wrap placed inside the top and bottom of the box for protection, as well as the records (in their poly lined sleeves) being packed outside the album covers to prevent seam splits due to any movement within the box.
This release is long deleted and finding a copy at all is hard enough, let alone one still factory sealed from new. For reference, a couple of similar copies have recently sold in the USA for approximately £625.00, though I am pricing mine a fair bit lower than that to allow for the cosmetic imperfections. I will ensure the set is extremely securely packed for safe delivery to the lucky new owner, very well wrapped in a cruciform mailer, then plenty of bubble wrap, all encased in polystyrene in an oversized shipping box so that there is no chance of dents or knocks occuring en route. It will only be sent via a fully tracked, signed for and insured delivery service, hence the slightly high postage price due to the size, weight and value of the parcel.
The first photos on the listing are of the actual sealed set on offer which is numbered 000898, the last two photos are of a different, opened set in order to show what the contents look like although this opened set is obviously not included in the sale and is only visible for demonstration purposes. I have also included some close up shots of the imperfections below the factory shrink wrap, and have priced it a little lower to reflect that whilst it new/sealed/unplayed, it is not quite perfect. Please use the zoom feature so you can have a good look at exactly what I mean, to know what is on offer. For reference, the opened set that I have shown in the photos also had similar external cosmetic imperfections to those of the on offer in this listing, and the contents of that set are perfect so I would assume they will be on this one too.
