Description
Selected titles from the private collection of a music business veteran are now being made available for the first time. Titles offered by this Seller are one-owner, never played and came directly from the pressing plant/record company warehouse unless otherwise noted.
Album is shipped in a 2 MIL poly sleeve.
Mint Condition means this album has never been played.
- This is an advance copy that Seller says is frequently referred to, somewhat erroneously, as a "test pressing". Actual test pressings don't have stock or promo labels because they usually haven't been printed yet.
- Advances were the true first pressings circulated to artists, producers and key record company staff for review before the covers were printed.
- The controversy with this record was the reversed order of the last two songs on the side one label copy. Seller never heard the stories of Young shooting boxes of the mislabeled albums.
- Note that the attached label copy had the wrong order but the record label is correct.
- The Seller speculates that what happened was this label copy was approved, sent to the printer and before they caught it some labels were printed. However they must have quickly printed new labels and one made it onto this copy.
- Obviously incorrect labels made it onto some records.
- Also note that this label copy indicated a title change. Seller thinks that Young was originally going to release this as a solo album called "Human Highway.
- Whatever the truth is, this advance with incorrect label copy shows how mistakes were made and how the story becomes legend when things are embellished.
- As a result here we a have a very collectible item for a very unusual reason.
- This obviously is a first pressing.
- The cover is a plain white die cut board that is yellowed around the edges.
- Inner sleeve is brittle yellowed die cut paper that I have replaced with a soft plastic one. Original inner sleeve is included.
- Seller received this through the advance copy distribution list he was on at WB.
