Real nice German copy of Neil Young’s classic album from 1971. This is the rare issue in the Twen series which has a totally different sleeve which is only available on this very limited issue and so very sought after by Neil Young collectors.

Condition: Sleeve
Standard gatefold sleeve design made from thickish card and laminated front and back.
The front sleeve with it’s wonderful colour photo of Neil at his moodiest is in superb condition, it’s very clean, no tears, no writing, no creasing, no ringwear or any other type of wear or damage, the lamination is clean and bright with a nice reflective surface and no trace of any lifting or bubbles. It’s very difficult to find any faults here.
The rear sleeve is in similar very nice condition, extremely clean with no damage or wear at all with only the exception of the very beginnings of a circular indentation where the record sits, hardly noticeable at the moment this could get worse so care will be needed with storage.
Inside the gatefold is just perfect.
The only thing on the entire package which could be called a flaw is on the top seam were there is a small split in the centre, this could be repaired from inside the sleeve and it would then be very hard to spot but I’ll leave that for the buyer to do, as it is the split isn’t really very visible unless you’re looking for it and the seam is otherwise unworn.
The bottom seam is totally unworn.
The spine is clean and unworn with all of the writing clearly readable.

Condition: Record
The record itself is also in real nice condition. It’smade from thick rigid vinyl which is extremely clean and has a nice dark sheen. When viewed in normal light the disc has no visible surface marks at all apart from on side one there are a couple of the lightest of light paper marks visible if you hold the record with the light directed at just the right angle. When examined under a very harsh lamp a few more extremely light hairline marks are revealed but these are very minor and totally inaudible, really they‘re just the marks caused by taking the record in and out of the sleeve.
Both labels are very clean and free from any sort of wear or damage.
When played the record sits perfectly flatly on the turntable with no hint of warping or unevenness. The sound is clear and clean with no noticeable surface nosie anywhere on the disc, no pops, clicks or crackles, no distortion or groovewear, no jumping or sticking.
Normal copies of this album are, of course, very common, even original pressings are relatively easy to find in nice condition. But this limited edition German copy with it’s alternative sleeve is fairly difficult to obtain and so shouldn‘t be missed. This would make a very nice addition to any Neil Young collection or indeed any collection of classic rock if you want an unusual sleeve to a classic album.
