Description
Nathan Milstein plays Brahms Violin Concerto
Anatole Fistoulari conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra
EMI Capitol SP 8560 - Stereo.
The LP is in EX condition. No surface noise to speak of apart from a small amount at the beginning of side 2. There are a few pops/ticks, and a short, faint repetitive tick (3 or 4 revs) towards the end of side 1. The sound is excellent. The cover is in EX+ condition. In beautiful, almost untouched shape, apart from a very small amount of creasing on the top right hand corner. It even comes in the original protective sleeve that was on it when it was bought, with the 'guaranteed unplayed' seal still on the cover.
This is probably my favourite recording of the Brahms Violin Concerto by my favourite violinist. It sounds quite wonderful on this lovely copy, electrifying and thrilling to the very end. I don't think Milstein ever sounded better than this.
This LP comes from a large collection of records owned by a retired music professor that I am selling on his behalf. There are some gems in the collection which I will post for auction soon. I do not grade the records visually, I listen to them in their entirety and try to give as accurate description of the condition as I can.
If purchasing more than one LP please wait for a revised invoice before making payment. If you have any postage preferences then contact me as soon as possible to let me know. I send parcels by first class, but am happy to revise this and the postage cost, and send them 2nd class if you prefer. For international buyers, if you want to have your LP sent as a registered parcel to be signed for, please contact me before making your payment.
