Little By Little b/w I’m Getting Lonesome

I began collecting singles, new and second-hand, in my mid teens around 1969. I stopped in 1984 or thereabouts, having accumulated 2500 or so in various genres from rock’n’roll through sixties beat music to New Wave, and including lots of soul and reggae. The collection was in storage for over twelve years because we ran out of room for it but I have I just got recently it back. I have decided to go through it and to sell a small number of those singles that I seem unlikely ever to play but which I think may have a value in the collectors’ market.
I can’t remember where I picked up this single but it would have been in some junk shop or fleamarket maybe 30 years or more ago. This is one of those famously almost-impossible-to-find 1950s R&B rarities. I’ve never seen another copy. It’s a great record but very obscure - you can’t imagine who would have bought this in the UK at the time, or what shop would even have stocked it.
This example has a large number of surface marks and scuffs but luckily, no serious scratches. Like many fifties singles pressed in heavier vinyl it plays really very well despite looking a bit the worse for wear. It got some hiss and crackles of course, but it has no bumps or clicks. The label on both sides is OK, as you can see, and the record has its original triangular centre.
