Description

Howdy folks....I recently purchased a mega collection of Arizona 45's and after spending some time sorting through all of them for upgrades and missing titles, I'm ready to offer these desert biscuits to the world.  I'm starting at the top of the list with some pricier items, but not to worry, as the price will be lowered until sold.  Lots more to list....Let me know your wants.   Next up: A copy of THE POSSUMS Killer Fuzz Monster "She's Loving Me" b/w "King In My World" 45 on the JM label #3824 from 1967.  Original Arizona Fuzz/Garage Rock  Vinyl solid VG++, just a few very light sleeve scuffs keep this one from a M- grade.  Labels are M-.  Out of the box, unplayed.  You can see and hear both sides of this great record on the In Groove Records You Tube clips (just like the copy I'm selling here).  Original Arizona Garage Rock Private Press.  From old store stock. This is a 45 rpm record with new sleeve.  A beautiful copy!  Don't miss this one.  See scans.    And now some history....JM Records 217 W, 3rd St.  Scottsdale, AZ, was owned by Jerry Malouf, who's family was in the construction/real estate business.  Malouf, known for his wild parties where the "In Crowd" would meet, hired Ray Lindstrom (Zoom Records - Tucson) to produce the session at Audio Recorders in late 1966.  Tim Ramsey was the engineer.  Lindstrom does not remember Malouf even being at the session.   Musician Ken Walker told a "local scribe" some years ago that the music was actually performed by The Shi-Reeves, that included himself and Bob Narloch, both of whom would morph into Kennelmus a few years later.  Lindstrom could only remember that there was a band in the studio, not that it was The Shi-Reeves.  Walker also stated at the time that The Possums were "...a four member vocal quartet...there's nine guys in the studio and only four of them are Possums."  Lead singer Michael Hubbard also wrote both of the songs that Lindstrom's Burtray Music published.  There are three complete takes of "She's Loving Me" and two of "King In His World" listed on the tape box that also spelled the name; "The Possoms"  The record was pressed (500) at Wakefield Manufacturing in Phoenix, in Feburary of 1967, House # sjw 9086.
