Description
Here's an extremely rare studio acetate, likely the original publishing demo of "Water," which Geno Washington also recorded for Piccadilly in 1966. Though we have no idea who the singer is, he's got a sweet timbre that's a little reminiscent of Jackie Wilson. Interestingly, the sheet music lists the prolific Black songwriter Rosemary McCoy (a.k.a. Rose Marie) as co-writer, whereas on the Geno Washington single, Roger Atkins has magically taken her place. Note that the 10" acetate has a chip near the edge, where there are no grooves and it doesn't affect play. Otherwise, the disc is in VG condition with some wear.
