Normil Hawaiians "More Wealth Than Money" ( Illuminated records) original UK pressing 2 LP set.

Normil Hawaiians were a South East London post-punk experimental outfit revolving around guitarist/singer Guy Smith who used varying ensembles of musicians with each release. Their '82 debut album "More Wealth Than Money" is a huge double slab of mindblowing overblown dark progressive, acid psychedelia, freaked out krautrock, electronic and post punk in a Joy Division meets Pink Floyd meets Magazine meets Yes playing Wire but with even more experimental and psychedelic moves. Undoubtedly one of the best and rarest albums from that era. Truly beautiful and amazing stuff here.....from 1982 and very hard to describe......absolutely mesmerizing double album which goes through a variety of moods. It’s psychedelic, progressive, dark wave, industrial, folk-rock, tribal, freaky art-punk all these things at once and still managing to sound delightfully coherent....An absolute gem of an album. At times sounds like a hard twisted psych mind melter with demented krautrock influences, as in early GURU GURU or AMON DUUL, and then goes prog and /or new wave as in JOY DIVISION, WIRE, GANG OF FOUR, TELEVISION PERSONALITIES vein!!

Its hard to fully put your finger on it, but this VERY RARE MONSTER is well worth checking out!!

A killer double album that is getting harder to find by the second!!

(A beautiful original UK first pressing double 2-LP set. Both vinyl albums retain their original gleaming full gloss and dark sheen. The vinyl looks barely played. On playback the record delivers great audio throughout with excellent sound clarity and only occasional surface static can be heard in a couple of places. A superb condition original UK 1st pressing of this incredible and ultra rare double album. I believe it would be virtually impossible to find a significantly better copy.)

Very Rare and incredibly beautiful original double album. One of the best and rarest Post Punk Psychedelic Experimental LP of the early 80's-if not the best!

Reportedly only 1250 copies of this staggering double LP were originally pressed, with about half of them allegedly being destroyed by the group, making this just about the RAREST of any UK psych/prog post-punk album you are EVER likely to see!!

NORMIL HAWAIIANS is the name used by the FAMILY HAWAII for both live musical events and recording projects. The FAMILY HAWAII originally formed in 1978 and lived together in South London where they would spend days together, jamming and recording, with the occasional live event. Several singles were released through RED RHINO RECORDS in the late 70's and early 80's, and the band continued to play at odd events. By 1982 the NORMIL HAWAIIANS found themselves signed to ILLUMINATED RECORDS, who released two albums over the next couple of years.
By the winter of 1985 the FAMILY HAWAII had decided to move to the south coast of England. By now the family had grown to such an extent that they set up several homes along the Kent and Sussex coast as well as setting up a base in Spain.
The music form is totally free much like DECEIT of THIS HEAT but with the emphasis on Minimalisms and Atmosphere.

On "More Wealth Than Money" the Normil Hawaiians sound is a fabulous and mind-blowing concoction , veering wildly between post punk Wire and Joy Division dark moves meshed with Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd twisted psychedelia-folk and krautrock inspired improvisations!!

MINT (M): The record / cd displays barely any signs of use, if any, with no marks or deterioration in sound quality. Extra items and cover are near perfect.

EXCELLENT (EX): Shows only minor signs of being played with very little lessening in sound quality. The Cover and extras will have some light wear and or creasing

VERY GOOD (VG): Has been played many times but has no major deterioration in sound quality, despite some noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches. Cover and extras will have normal wear and tear but no major defects

GOOD (G): Has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and any extras may suffer from folding, scuffing, split spine, discoloration etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable and has considerable surface noise and may even jump. Cover and contents will be torn stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly. Covers badly damaged or partly missing

+ or - : Indicates slightly better (+) or slightly lesser (-) condition than main grade
