Description
The provenance: I was a booking agent and promoter in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area from the mid 1980s through the early 1990s, and was responsible for setting up shows by many of the era's key underground acts, which included most of the early grunge greats on the holy Sub-Pop roster. One of them was NIRVANA, a band I brought to town on its first two tours. Thus, from my personal archives I am making available to a select individual this IMPOSSIBLY RARE package lot that includes:
—An orginal tour booking demo cassette featuring the tracks "Love Buzz," "Big Cheese" (both from the band's debut 7", which was already out of print and rare at the time), and "Blew" (**misspelled on tape label as "Blue"; the band's first album, 1989's Bleach, was still in production when these tapes were assembled to be mailed out to booking agents, so my guess is even the label folks were unsure of the spelling!)
—An original official 8 x 10 glossy promo photo of the band issued by Sub-Pop label.
—An original band press kit featuring nine black and white Xeroxed pages including articles and live reviews of the band, as well as early reviews of Bleach.
—An original 11 x 17 tour poster (black and white Xerox), which was mailed to me separately from the above (see image of actual 1989 Seattle postmark over "Washington State" postage stamp and rubber-stamped Sub-Pop return address-!). Poster was neatly folded into 1/4-page size and stapled for mailing; staple holes in corner.
***Cassette still plays fine; label has a check mark in pen and some yellowing due to age. All items in EXCELLENT condition.***

Needless to say, this lot is a real time capsule and a once-in-a-lifetime find for even the most obsessive Nirvana collector. Taken together, it qualifies as museum material. Don't let it pass you by—you'll kick yourself forever if you do.
