Description

For sale is an exceedingly scarce, still sealed OG/first US pressing of seminal 1990s alternative/grunge classic "Nevermind" by Nirvana. On the David Geffen Company / Sub Pop record label, DGC-24425.
Includes all the hallmarks one wants to see in a first pressing, including: Parallel lines of breath holes, "Recycled" symbol on the back, DCG-24425 designation on the spine, no "CRC" in white letters above the barcode on the back cover, "DCG 9130 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA" and "Manufactured and Distributed In the United States by Emi Distribution Corp." on the back cover, and the details of the dollar bill on the cover are clearly visible.
Condition:
Still sealed. There is a little bumping in the lower right hand corner, which has resulted in a tiny speck of shrink loss. There is a 4 x 5 inch circular area of shrink loss around where the dollar bill is in the water. At the very bottom edge of the front cover photo about two inches from the right edge, you'll see a tiny white line. I thought that may be a crease so I ran my finger over it and it turns out it was a tiny sliver of paper trapped in the shrink, a "hanging chad" likely left over from the cutting of the cover. It broke into a few pieces under the shrink when I touched it (see last two photos for before and after photos).
There weren't many of these made: CDs ruled the day. I've only been able to find a few in the auction records that are still sealed, hence, about as nice condition as one could hope for from this seminal album.
I recently acquired this and other important Nirvana material from a Maryland collection, much of which I hope to list this week, including other sealed Nirvana items and an important early Nirvana/Hole concert poster.
My grading system:

STILL SEALED : Jacket imperfections, if any, will be described. Vinyl guaranteed to be in unplayed condition.

M : I don't use this grade, on the assumption that no record or jacket is truly flawless.

M- : Vinyl appears unplayed, jacket bears no signs of wear. I rarely, if ever, use this grade.

NM : Like M-, with possible scintilla/whiff of an imperfection

VG++ : May have a couple very minor imperfections. (superficial marks that have little or no bearing on sound.) Jacket may have a couple very minor flaws.

VG+ : Like VG++, but with a few more light imperfections

VG : Several light imperfections, and possibly one or two more serious ones, such as small feelable scratches. Still plays well.

VG- : Will display numerous minor imperfections and/or feelable scratches that affect playback quality. Between you and me, you could do better.

GOOD : What I consider pretty poor... numerous major imperfections. I generally don't sell items in this range unless they are of major significance.

PLEASE NOTE! Shipping in the US ONLY. Must have at least 30 or more ratings to buy. No returns if unsealed.
