Description
NIRVANA Love Buzz 7" (SubPop) repro grunge rock Seattle I should mention first thing, that I'm selling this item for the widow
of a friend who recently passed away and I have no information
as to the providence of this record.
I am of the opinion this is a REPRO and NOT an original.
my opinion is mainly based on the fact that there's no hand-
written number on the sleeve's back and it's my understanding
that every copy Sub-Pop ever sent out were hand-numbered
with the exception of a few freebies that were marked "promo"
instead of having a number.
still, my friend was the fellow who turned me on to all of
the Sub Pop bands way back in the day and he had most
every one of the earliest Sub-Pop releases - Singles Club
included.
I called another friend who I knew had a genuine "Love Buzz"
in hope of comparing his to the auction item, only to learn that
he'd sold his record a few years ago for the big bucks. d'oh.
record in very good used condition: looks like it's been played
sparingly and not especially well cared-for, but it's not at-all
beat-up looking.
sleeve shows definite signs of being handled: some light "ring"
wear and your typical shelf wear.
so: after some consideration, I've decided to start this auction at
$30 - and if that's all it sells for, then there ya go. original copies
of the Nirvana debut single go for hundreds if not thousands of
dollars at this point - if this is a fake then thirty bucks still ain't bad.
