Description

NIGHT BEAT is regarded by many as Sam Cooke's best album.   Session players included Billy Preston (16 years old!), Rene Hall and Hal Blaine.    This is a 1963 first pressing stereo, Rockaway (NJ) plant.     Run-out:  Side 1, PHRS-3087-15S, A2; Side 2, PHRS-3087-10S, I (all stamped).
I rate the vinyl Very Good Plus, referring to the Goldmine system.   It would be close to Near Mint except there is a very visable scratch on Side 1 (see photo).  The scratch starts on cut 3 but is very light until cuts 5 and 6, where it is distinct.   I can't hear the scratch on cuts 3 and 4.  However, there is an audible "pop" or "click" on cuts 5 and 6 (but not close to a skip).   It actually plays much better than it would appear throught these 2 cuts, IMO, probably due to the high quality vinyl pressing at Rockaway.
The sleeve is Very Good Plus as well.  It has visible ringwear on the front and prior owner's name written in on the bottom back corner.  The seams have no splits.  The inner sleeve appears to be original.
Photos are part of description.  Ships only to the contiguous USA at the stated cost.
