NICO - THE MARBLE INDEX LP UK ORIGINAL 1ST ELEKTRA MONO (SILVER ON RED) LP 1968.
Nice and rare copy of Nico's second LP - 'The Marble Index', a compelling and brooding album and a worthy follow on from 'Chelsea Girls' and her contribution to the iconic Velvet Underground debut album. This is a difficult album to find and this one is the much rarer glorious mono release. It is from my own collection and has been well cared for.
The Cover: The fully laminated glossy yet quite fragile cover is graded VG+, it is very clean but with a few light creases and several wrinkles along the spine edge. No splits or unwanted graffiti, a solid and very decent example.
The vinyl: Graded vg++/ excellent and is very clean, rarely played and well looked after. Playback is crisp and clear, a haunting album with her incredible voice and tone... a great example for mono over stereo preference, especially from this period.
Original paper inner sleeve is solid and intact.
This is a very nice copy of this unusual and intriguing artist's 2nd LP, its in mono and will only get harder to find.
