Description
Nick Drake - Stunning NR MINT Heavyweight UK 1972 1st Press (A1//B1 Matrix) 'Pink Moon'. In Impossible Nr Mint Vinyl Condition !!! With Correct 'Pink Rim' Island Logo labels & 1st Press Matrix!!! Complete With Original 1st Press Robor Gatefold Sleeve & Mint Original Poly Lined 'Patents' Logo'd Blue Island Inner Sleeve! The Best UK 1st Pressing of Nick's Last Album You Will Ever See!!!
From my own pristine Nr Mint collection of rare 1960's & 70's Prog/Psych/Rock & Folk, you are bidding on one of the most sought -after UK Folk 1st pressings of all time; the massively rare 'Pink Moon the from the legendary Nick Drake. I'm almost positive that this will be one of the best examples of this very rare record you will ever see for offer on eBay (or anywhere else for that matter). I have sold some very rare records from this amazing Mint- Nick Drake collection recently, and this ranks up there with the very best of them!!! As you all probably know by now, to find the UK 1st pressing of Nick's last record is an almost impossible event in itself. By the time Nick released Pink Moon, his star was on the wane. The initial buzz that was created by 'Five Leaves Left' and 'Bryter Layter' had died down, and this, his last record, was released whilst he was very ill, with virtually no interest from the general public. It remains his rarest album as it sold virtually zero copies. Therefore original 1st pressings such as this only number in the hundreds at the most (there cannot be many left - and certainly not in this condition). It has a much darker feel than his first two albums, perhaps a reflection his fragile state of mind at the time (as I mentioned above, he was very ill when this album was recorded). Anyways, a very very rare and sought-after record, don't miss this one as you will not probably never see another copy in Nr Mint vinyl condition...
As you will have guessed from my ID, I am a big Nick Drake fan and I have what I consider to be one of the best UK 1st press collections of his 3 albums. This is from a collection that has been archived for the best part of 30 years (I had separate 'playing' copies) and I can guarantee you will not find a more pristine pressing.

The thick & chunky quality-pressed 1st press vinyl is in stunning Mint- condition!!! The vinyl has NO Scratches, NO Hairlines, NO Paperlines, NO Groove-Wear, NO warping, No Factory Faults, NO Blemishes at all - Nothing!!! It is in absolutely stone-cold Nr Mint condition!!! There is not a single mark on this record, it is pristine with a deep glass-like shine!!! A beautiful looking record! This thick quality 1st press chunky 1970's vinyl is totally pristine!!! It feels great in the hand! I would have to grade this vinyl as NR MINT at the very least!!! Please note I do not over-grade my records at all, if in any doubt I always under-grade. You will not see another original 1st pressing of this record in this condition again!!!
The classic 1st press Robor non-laminated Gatefold Sleeve is also remarkable!!! Due to Islands Records policy of non-lamination, these sleeves suffered absolutely terrible wear and always turn up totally worn out and really lame looking. As I mentioned above I strongly doubt that more than a handful now exist in Mint- condition anymore. This one however is superb, and a fitting sleeve for this record. It grades as a very respectable Ex, which, when graded accurately using strict RC grading standards (which most sold on eBay are not) is seriously rare itself. It retains ALL of its beautiful factory pressed satin matt finish in stunning un-blemished condition!!! There are NO Tears, NO writing/scribbles, NO sticker marks and NO tape or tape marks. The corners are still sharp with only light wear. It still retains its original box shape beautifully (I have tried to show this on the images) and is completely blemish free!!! The spine has only very minor wear with perfectly legible spine text still visible!!! All in all, a superb example of this very rare and fragile sleeve.
This amazing record would not be complete without its correct original 'Made In Great Britain' and 'Patent' light blue poly-lined Island company inner sleeve. And this does not disappoint; it is also in Stunning NR MINT condition!!!! No heavy creasing, nice flat and crisp with no tears, an no separating of the inner poly lining!
As we all know Nick's tragic story now I won't bother with pages & pages of text on this; if you are reading this then I'm sure you are as familiar with Nick's life as I am. I guess we should just be thankful for the small but beautiful body of work he left us with. As we all know, Nick's 3 records sold poorly upon release, some estimate that each album literally sold in the hundreds, whatever the case, to find any original 1st pressing of any these three legendary records is always a very rare event. Don't miss this opportunity!!! This record is almost always found on later flimsy vinyl with repress labeIs nowadays, it is almost impossible to find on the original UK 1st press Pink Rim Island labels anymore, however in stone-cold Mint- condition..? If you have never heard this record, it will blow you away!!! An absolutely essential (and very rare) classic UK folk record to own!!!
Please refer to my 100% feedback rating for the many valuable records I have already sold for reassurance. I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition and many have 3 figure book prices. All will be listed here on eBay UK at a £2.99 start with No Reserve - bookmark my pages. Like the vast majority of my collection, this record has been archived upright in a thick outer PVC sleeve in a smoke & damp free environment for the best part of 20-30 years!

Postage ... Hazey Jane has absolutely NO hidden surcharges; the price you win is the price you pay, just add the relevant postage, it's as simple as that! We always combine postage so if you win more than 1 auction you save money on postage costs! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.
A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards. If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...
Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.
We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
