1986 Hannibal Records release #HNBX 5302 - US Issue
(correct me if I'm wrong - I believe all the early Hannibal
discs were UK pressings. I will post if corrected.)
Joe Boyd's (Drake's manager)Hannibal Records released
this box set of Nick Drake's career output quite a few
years before his current popularity. It contains Nick's
three LP's (Five Leaves Left, Bryter Layter, Pink Moon)
and a fourth disc called Time Of No Reply with 14 tracks.
(4 had appeared on Island Records 1977 re-issue of Pink Moon
disc in their box set and 10 were previously unissued in
1986. This disc includes notes from Frank Kornelussen
of Flypaper.)
This box also includes a 16 page booklet with biography,
lyrics and track information.
The covers for the records are very thin paper. Thinner
than most 12" singles would have. They are full color
with original front and back LP graphics, but not gatefold.
These covers were cut larger than the box and are a bit
wrinkled because of that. They are not scuffed, split or
torn. Considering the high quality vinyl, the care with the
pressings and the fine booklet it's surprising more time
wasn't spent on the covers.
