Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

\                    USA - IMPERIAL RECORDS - LP 2965 MONOPHONIC

RARE! Original 1964 first pressing in glorious MONO of the very first HOLLIES album ... it's loaded with potential hit tracks, primed to overthrow the BEATLES from the top of the pops!

Released in America in 1964 by Imperial Records, Here I Go Again was the Hollies’ U.S. debut, and is rated by many fans as superior to its British counterpart, Stay with the Hollies. Here I Go Again offers an accurate representation of the Hollies’ early repertoire, comprised largely of distinctive covers of American R&B and rock ’n’ roll classics. In addition to the ultra-catchy title tune and their hit covers of “Stay” and “Just One Look,” the album finds the Hollies applying their trademark style to such iconic numbers as “Memphis,” “Lucille” and “You Better Move On” which was also covered by the early Rolling Stones.

Of all the English bands who achieved international success during the first wave of the British Invasion, none combined youthful rock ’n’ roll energy with musical sophistication more compellingly than the Hollies. The Manchester quintet effortlessly combined the effervescent harmonies of Allan Clarke, Graham Nash and Tony Hicks with a muscular rhythm section driven by the brilliant drummer Bobby Elliott, creating one of their era’s most beloved and enduring musical catalogs.

As was standard practice with British acts at the time, the Hollies’ early albums reached American shores in very different form than the versions that were released overseas, with alternate track listings and different cover art than their U.K. and European counterparts. Although these unique variants are the form in which millions of American fans first experienced these historic albums, they have been out of print for decades, and have long been obtainable only at inflated collectors’ prices.
