New Order - Blue Monday 1983 US Original/First Pressing Factory Sealed 12” Vinyl/Single b/w (backed with) The Beach. "Blue Monday" is the best-selling 12-inch single of all time. In the United Kingdom, it has sold 1.16 million copies in all formats, including the 1988 and 1995 re-releases. Sales of the original 1983 12-inch release account for the bulk of the total, at over 700,000 copies. In 2021, Rolling Stone Magazine included it at number 235 on its list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time". In the year-end charts of 1983, Blue Monday was the #1 single of that year in New Zealand and finished at #18 on the UK Singles Chart for that same year. From 1983-1985, it reached #9 on the UK Singles Chart and spent 38 weeks in the top 75 ,#1 on the UK Independent Chart spending 186 weeks and #5 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart. The single's unique packaging was designed by Peter Saville and Brett Wickens. It features a special die-cut sleeve designed to resemble a 5 1⁄4-inch floppy disk.
