Description
Great private press Christian Folk Rock LP from New Creation. It came out in 1970 on Hemmits Harold Records out of Sweden, and gets a great review from Ken Scott in his Archivist Book. He says: "Just might have to hand the ol' 5-star rating to this irresistible Swedish custom LP. It's certainly the most exciting thing I've heard from those parts. Though much of the album is remakes of things like 'Oh Happy Day', 'Calvary'(done to the tune of 'Yesterday'), and 'Amen', it's the psych, go-go, lounge, and beat interpretations these four guys apply that elevate it to a coveted "monster" status. Plastered throughout with what sounds like a ballpark organ giving mood to the softly crooned ballads, and setting the bouncy numbers on fire and delivering some incredibly surging solos. 'He Is There' gets served up with some stinging fuzz guitar. 'I Recommend' is a go-go masterpiece that'll get you up out of your chair, as will the swingin' covers of 'I Met Him In Church' and 'Amen'. 'I surrender All' closes the set bringing back the fuzz plus some spastic bursts of wah-wah guitar for what's got to be the most powerful rendition of this classic hymn ever recorded.". The songs are: Sing Out My Soul, Can It Be True, I Met Him In Church, I Know A Place, He Is There, Oh Happy Day, Amen, Calvary, I Recommend, I Surrender All. The vinyl and cover are in VG+ condition.
