Description
This is a NM/M- (near mint / mint minus) complete set of five LPs in a M- (mint minus) box set of Ella Fitzgerald Sings the George and Ira Gershwin Song Book 5 LP set on Verve – Polydor Paris (2615 063 France) from 1982, these records have never been played.
I am designating this box set as "used" only because the box is not still shrink-wrap sealed at this point, but these LP's have never seen a turntable needle. The exterior box is in M- condition, the glossy finish is still very high with virtually no loss (even when viewed from the side), the backside in the black areas has just the faintest bit of a few very small scuffs (they are very hard to see), and there is a very slight 3” crease near the top middle of the box where the word “Ella” appears (shown). The inside of the box on both sides is mint, the gatefold is perfect. All four box corners are perfect, with no tears, wear, corner bumps, taped areas, and no repairs. The paper LP sleeves are also in perfect condition, with no splits, bends, dog-eared corners, or wear, the original artwork is by Bernard Buffet. These LP's were handled meticulously when I took the pictures – I touched them only at the very outer edge and at the center hole. The “history” on this set: the person bought them through an LP record club membership, but these were never played once they were received. The vinyl on every single record is extra clean and shiny (shown), with no signs of wear (as mentioned, these were never played).
These LP's were graded using the Goldmine Record Grading Scale, as follows:
MINT (M): Perfect! This record looks like it has just left the manufacturer, with NO flaws what so ever. It looks as though it had never been handled. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains. No stickers address labels, writing on the covers or labels. No tears or seam splits. No wear to the cover or record period! Age of the record has nothing to do with it.
NEAR MINT or NM, M- : this record appears virtually flawless A very minor scuff and very little else can appear on the vinyl. It should play without any noise over the flaw. The flaw is very hard to see. The cover looks as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and or age. Minor impressions to the cover (due to the outer edge of the vinyl resting inside) may be acceptable, however the artwork is be as close to perfect as can be.
Please note that the LP's will be removed from the paper sleeves and shipped in plastic outer sleeves to ensure the paper sleeves do not split in transit. This set had simply been sitting on a shelf for 26 years and it’s time for it to find a home where it can be listened to and enjoyed.
