Description
Up for auction is EVERYTHING IS b/w SNOW SONG PT 1 by NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL released on CHER DOLL records(CHER 002) in 1994. This is the first proper vinyl release for the band. The sleeve is VG+ w/light ring wear and price sticker residue. Vinyl is VG w/no marks. Clean and glossy grooves. Looks to have been played only a few times. The only flaw is the vinyl has a slight warp. It is not severe and DOES NOT AFFECT PLAY. The only way I even noticed it was because I like to check vinyl by laying them on a flat surface. I has many 45's with similar warps and I've never had a problem. I palyed it on two different turntable and both played it perfect. You won't be disappointed. Includes both inserts. This is the regular sleeve version and is an original pressing from 1994. Here is some text from one of the inserts: "Jeff wrote the following text for the single: "hello and thank you for listening to my record. it's my first go at this 'legitimate' release stuff and i'm very happy to finally be on vinyl after five years of recording. nancy says she's gonna get some folks to distribute this single, so i have no idea where you are or how it has now come into your possesion. feel free to write to me cause i'd be glad to hear from you, so send all correspondence care of Cher Doll. 'Everything is' was recorded two years ago in Amy Poole's bedroom. it was the first day of spring in Georgia and Amy had just whipped up a sweet batch of cornbread. it was nice to eat free food since i'd been unemployed for so long. 'snow song pt 1' was recorded in my second story bedroom above a nice patch of snow. (hence the title, of course) if you'd like to hear my friends' music, you can write to them at elephant 6 p.o. box 9935 Denver CO 80209 take care and thanks again. Oh, and here's something Jeff later said in an interview about the single: "The single was a Godsend because I was pretty much at the end of my rope with just about everything in my life at that point. I'd moved away from my home and all my friends for the first time and I was very much alone and sad. I ended up sending a tape to Nancy at Cher Doll Records and she saved me merely by saying she wanted to do a single. I just sent her a tape of what I had around at the time, some songs I'd recorded on a four-track, and she chose 'Everything Is' and 'Snow Song Pt. 1.'""

Below is a guide to how I grade records. I collect records and love music, so I feel it necessary to test out vinyl before I sell it. I wouldn’t sell you something that I wouldn’t buy myself. I try to grade honestly and thoroughly. My grading is as follows: NM:My highest grade (unless brand new & sealed) both sleeve and vinyl are nearly flawless. No edge or ring wear. No seam damage and entry wear. Vinyl looks and plays like new with no surface marks at all. VG+:Means a great condition copy. Maybe some minor shelf wear or light edge, ring or entry wear, but again, very minor. Vinyl is clean, plays without surface noise and contains no flaws. VG:Means nice playable copy. Record is obviously aged or used, but is still in very nice overall condition. May have some wear or light sleeve wear such as ring, edge and maybe minor seam wear. Vinyl may contain some surface wear, light scratches and/or scuffs. Surface noise is light, but doesn’t interfere with sound quality. Fair:Means has been played and enjoyed. Sleeve will have ring wear, edge wear and seam wear. Vinyl contains audible noise (pops, crackling, etc…)Very rarely do I list records under this grading unless absolutely collectible. Hope this helps. Feel free to email me with any ???’s. As a side note, all pictures you see, are of the actual item you are bidding on and not taken from elsewhere (internet, other auctions, etc..).
