Hi, I am Mike, I have been a music collector for over 30 years now. My Ebay name has now changed at the request of Ebay for security - little else will change I hope, I will still try to offer the finest and most accurately described and graded records I can find - I pride myself on offering a variety of genres to keep my site as interesting as possible. I will rarely offer any record that falls below a true Excellent grading, unless its of a certain rarity which will justify offering a lesser grade. I try, to the best of my ability to describe as accurately and as honesty as I can all items I offer for sale with all the relevant information I can think of to help any interested collector. You may notice I only submit one or two items a day for Ebay; time rarely allows more as I Play-Grade every record I offer (on a Rega 3 deck with Ortofon cartridge) - visuals alone do not always tell a true or full story - I will mention any defects or flaws no matter how small that I notice to be fair as possible to any interested collector. Every record I offer, whether it be a common or rare item deserves the same respect as far as I am concerned and will be treated the same - just because an item is rare does not always mean its good. A ten pounds record that plays close to new is as important to the collector as a 250 pound record that plays less well. All the pictures I use for your guidance are taken with a digital camera or scanned - they are NOT improved, cleaned-up or made better looking than they are with camera trickery or enhancing with digital programmes. Cat Number: K 54010 Stereo.

Label and Condition: Reprise tan riverboat label. Clean examples with only very light spindle traces, a small mark near the centre hold only. (Please see label scans for all information needed).

Rarity Factor: Moderately scarce, never seen as often as most other Young albums.

Original Year of Release: 1973

Matrix Nos: K 54010 A UK 3 and B UK 3 The tiny pressing numbers are 1 and 2 and the word KIT is etched on the run out grooves on side one.

Album Information: Now with the issue on CD of Beach, Hawks, Stars and Reactor this legendary early live album is, along with Journey Through the Past the only Neil Young title not available on the small silver format. As far as I know this is still not ever due for release on CD so finding a superb vinyl copy will be ever more needed. Even if it ever does get a CD release, it sure will not include the massive lyric insert the original vinyl came with, if a miniature one is ever included, who will be able to read it anyway? This massive insert (please see scan) is one of the most fragile items ever included in any vinyl album. It is made of paper so thin, it almost remembles airmail paper. Obviously frail and delicate finding this insert in near mint condition will prove very difficult - even if its included at all. This one here still has the mega delicate saw-tooth edges still full intact with no tearing or pieces missing - markable to say the very least. The record is close to mint and plays similar (sorry had to download this one to CD for myself when play-grading, I want to hear this one anywhere, and I feel a CD issue is not going to happen - well for a decade at least). The rather dull finished cover is the original black lined version, that is say inside where the record lives is jet black, not the usual white of most covers. Although a live recording, this one is ultra-essential in any Young collection as all the tracks included are new. Not lesser versions of already issued songs. It includes the masterpiece ‘Dont be Denied’ an uncompromising account of his early life in Canada, and every track is pure classic (would you really expect less from this man?) The album’s backing is provided by Tim Drummond, Johnny Barbata, Jack Nitzsche and Ben Keith with guest appearances from David Crosby and Graham Nash.

Cover Condition and Details: Excellent, single, coloured inside, original top loading cover. A fine, if sparse, cover, attractive and clean with just light edgewear in places. This is often seen in very poor conditions with rubbing and ringwear due to the lack of any laminate protection - this has little.

Cover Lamination: None

Cover Front: A very fine example with deep rich colour. There is a small rub mark near the very top where a price has been erased. This shows little and is non-intrusive to the eyes. Other than this I think this is as good as it gets. No other rub wear or creasing and its very clean indeed. The odd light mark maybe, but little shows up much on this one.

Cover Back: Similar to the front, tiny rub trace near the top only but no ringwear at all. Still very clean and fresh looking.

Cover Edges/Corners: A little light rubbing on the edges, nothing heavy, all still very solid. The spine, which is on the bottom opposite the top opening is strong and only has light rubs, the most on the right hand corner side (about 1 inch). Most of the text is all clear and intact. There is little wear to the corners which remain well defined and strong. This cover is one of the best examples I’ve seen for some time for this. It should please most collectors.

Insert Condition: The best, cleanest and strongest one I have ever seen - close to perfect really.

Vinyl Condition: Mint(-), super clean and shiny and hardly any marks at all. A copy that was fully worthy of putting to CD as it is a beautiful pressing and copy. Nothing more than the odd single groove tick a couple of times. A superb quiet pressing with virtually zero surface sounds - some albums around this time suffered this, not this one. Fine crisp sound with no degrading at all. This lovely copy will please just about everyone.

Final Summary: A vital intense work that should be included in any serious collection. A difficult time for Young after a disastrous tour and a huge flop of an album - Journey Through the Past - an album not half as bad as the critics would have you believe. Time may have faded away, but this fine classic album certainly has not - Mike.

USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and other Far Eastern countries etc: £5.50. This is covered up to £28 (43 US Dollars) insurance and would be sent 1st-class airmail. Please note I do not profit on postage (my packing standards are high and the package weighs a little more).

Extra insurance is available for non-UK items but bear in mind I have to state the true value of the item on the parcel and customs would be aware and you may well get charged import duties.

Mailing Details: All records are sent in plastic covers with the record taken out of the sleeve and sent in professional mailers with a minimum of TWO stiffners for extra protection. More expensive items are also inserted into a de-luxe heavy duty padded bag AS WELL to give that extra protection and three or four stiffners. I truly want ALL my items to arrive to their destination in the same condition they leave me.
