Description
Pete Long's book, Ghosts on the Road, reports that this album was actually recorded at the Congresscentrum in Hamburg, in what was West Germany, at the time, on March 21, 1976, during the Neil Young and Crazy Horse Japan and Europe Tour of Spring 1976, as documented in the unreleased film, Muddy Track.
I had this in college over 35 years ago and was surprised to find it recently, in blue vinyl !!, from my source of quality "import" LPs. My copy, from decades ago was on orange vinyl, as was all of my friends copies. So it is definitely a much more desirable version of this classic "import".
Like all copies, it babbles about Neil Young, Emperor Nero, and the Roman Colosseum on the back of the jacket... all of which is claimed "... do solemnly swear by the G-string on my guitar that this story is absolutely true." Of course this was from the era where unreleased songs got their titles, not from the artists, but from the makers of the LP.
