Here, you get what you pay for – SAFE PACKING in BOXES using 7mm DOUBLE-WALL STIFFENERS including full side protection and bubble wrap, the records removed from the covers of course. All this very safe packing means I lose money on every box I post, but safe delivery is, and will always be paramount. You WILL see the difference when my packet arrives. Also, I will pay for insurance on any record that sells for over £100 at NO extra cost – that is UK and abroad. Also I aim to post the very same day after payment is received if possible. Label/Format: Reprise, second issue tan format with new catalogue number, but first with the new number with no Warner logo. These still with the original deeper tan colour and very gently textured to the fingertip.

Label Conditions: Both very clean, fresh and attractive with only a very modest few spindle marks and no wear around the hole area. This record plays very impressively.

Warps or Lateral Movement: Assume all records I offer have no significant warping or lateral movement to cause sound or tracking issues. All should play fine even on budget turntables.

Brief Info: The third Neil Young album after he left Buffalo Springfield. The man simply went from strength-to-strength after the issue of a strong debut and then the superb ‘Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere’ with Crazy Horse. A brilliant 11 track classic that most fans and music collectors will know already. This may be a slighly later pressing, but still very early, and this one impressively manufactured with sound to match. I have heard so many RSLP first issues that crackle with unwanted surface noise and even distortion, but this quality CBS-pressed copy was a joy to play-grade with little unwanted. This too for at times, a delicate album with some quieter songs, none more so than the classic title track. It has a very impressive clean cover and includes the insert sheet. So if much cleaner than average sound is a priority, this copy should please many fans and collectors.

Cover Grade and Format: EXCELLENT(+): an unlaminated gatefold format with matt, smooth surfaces. Printed and made in England by MacNeill Press, includes quite large lyric insert sheet and white inner sleeve.

Cover Front: Cover-protected from new by one owner, this front is little short of as-made with any blemishes or creasing traces minuscule. Fresh, clean and very attractive indeed with no sticker issues, these are seldom seen like this no matter which catalogue number they have.

Cover Back: The back is the same, the lack of ring wear is always a pleasure to see on these vintage matt, darker covers.

Cover Inner Gatefold: A tiny bottom right corner tip crease apart, this is of the very high standard of the outer areas.

Top Edges: Both straight, flat and near flush with barely any hint of wear.

Bottom Edges: Very close to above with any rubbing tiny and faint up to the back right corner end that does have a very small modest surface rub.

Right Edge(s), and Type: The front close edge is very sharp and unworn, this having been naturally protected by the back edges as those are quite proud in manufacture. The spine fold appears to have only been folded on the top edge meaning the spine is quite tilted. This is simply a minor manufacture issue, thus natural and nothing to do with wear. Any thickening to the back storage edges is very light seen end-on.

Spine and Text: Solid, straight with minimal compression, but tilted to the left due the lack of a scored fold on the bottom fold edge as mentioned already. This means the right edges are not flush. The text is unworn with any blemishes or rubbing to the actual surface or folds being minimal, little and light.

Corners: Any tip rubs very small and light, excellent shape mostly retained with no obvious knocks.

Cover Summary: A very strong all-round example of this classic 1970’s cover, one that will prove very difficult to find much better. This attractive item should please many collectors.

The Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT: an unlined white inner with two perfect untorn window circles with no hard creases, just a little minor crinkle near the left edges. This is intact with only gentle discolouration of the paper. It has the PATENT NO. 1,125,555.

The Lyric Insert: NEAR MINT: a double-folded lyric sheet printed on one side of watermarked paper – seen when held to light. Unmounted (e.g. no pin-holes or tape marks), and still clean and fresh as when made. All evidence suggests this has hardly been handled or even unfolded.

Vinyl Condition/Visual Grading: EXCELLENT(+): arguably better. A very fine visual copy that is very clean with equally fine shine and very solidly pressed. A copy with minimal plays on all the evidence with any surface marks/hairlines very light and faint as seen critically under bright light. No penetrating stylus scratches, viewed in average room light, little even registers. Visually a super record that should please many collectors.

Album Played For Grading: Yes. [I play ALL records I offer before submitting to Ebay, also the record is played in its entirety unless clearly stated otherwise.

Sound Quality and Audio Grading: This wonderful album plays even above it’s high visual grading with little to fault. Offering strong, distortion-free sound, all frequencies are sharp and clear – sound quality is very high with a wide dynamic range and very detailed sound. Any surface sounds are minimal indeed and this is a very clean pressing with no tracking issues* or inherent pressing noises. With some quite passages, the odd contact sound is near impossible to avoid totally, but this lacks the faults I have heard so many times on the first RSLP pressings were seemed more inconsistent and variable. Few available copies will outperform this early Kinny pressing, made by CBS, I feel sure. Both channels are clean and sharp, I am certain this record has been played only lightly and has been very well stored and generally carefully handled within a non-smoking environment. Nothing of any real note spoilt my pleasure when play-grading this lovely record. It will prove very difficult to find significantly better and can be strongly recommended.
