Here is an edited review followed by the song titles & times :
"Originally intended as a double album Nazz Nazz is at once as equally diverse and more cohesive than the Nazz's eponymous debut. It's a weird trick, but the group pulls it off, largely due to the rapidly maturing talents of Todd Rundgren, their main songwriter... (arranger, lead guitarist) and producer. Throughout the Nazz's first record, he proved that he was a gifted mimic and a savvy melodicist, yet he never quite landed upon a signature style outside of their debut single "Hello It's Me"/"Open My Eyes"... they followed that lead on Nazz Nazz, fusing their sundry influences into a distinctive psych-pop sound. Sonically, it's certainly more ambitious than it's predecessor and, apart from the odd forays into soul and blues (filtered through Cream, naturally)... it's more consistent. In many ways, that makes Nazz Nazz a better listen than its predecessor, even if it doesn't have a knockout punch like "Open My Eyes." That's because Rundgren's songs exhibit a stronger sense of identity, as ballads like "Letters Don't Count" and snarky pop-rockers like "Hang on Paul" point the way toward his solo career. There are a few embarassing detours... but the second Nazz record rivals the first because it offers a progression. It shows that the band, or at least Rundgren, have figured out how to blend their influences into something original." - Tom Erlewine, AMG (rating : 4 stars)

Here is an extremely rare white label promo copy of NAZZ NAZZ, the classic second effort by Todd Rundgren and his band NAZZ. This title was released on the obscure SGC (Screen Gems-Columbia) label in 1969. (SGC was distributed by Atco/Atlantic.) The translucent dark red record itself grades Near Mint to Mint- with little or no visible wear. The cover shows very slight wear but is still in Near Mint- shape overall with slight ring/corner/edge wear. The spine is intact but there is a small split at the right edge of the bottom seam. There is also a small notch cut near the top of the right edge of the cover (see scan.) The white labels are extremely sharp with no spindle marks, writing etc.
The Bear says : This whole album is great but it didn't sell because it was never properly promoted. The band explodes on the powerful "Under The Ice" and Todd really shines on "A Beautiful Song", an excellent 11 minute epic that certainly deserves to be heard. A true collector's item, this copy is particularly rare because of the white labels and the incredible condition of the record. Snatch one straight from The Dude's personal stash ~ don't snooze snooze on NAZZ NAZZ !!
