Thank you for viewing my listings. On this site, I have decided to list records that are at least excellent\excellent plus condition only All of the records will be play tested at loud volume prior to listing on a top system. I will describe the audio quality as honest as possible and as I hear it. I will be listing some of the albums I have decided to part with here on ebay as well as on my bluesvinyl4u website, while the majority of my albums are blues related from all eras. Please keep looking at my other rare original UK pressings that I have and will be listing soon!
In my opinion this is one of the most under rated Nazareth albums, the Audio quality of this vinyl was almost as good as it gets in my opinion! Near mint audio on my systems! This album is complete with the original record sleeve insert with the lyrics on one side and picture of Nazareth on the other in excellent condition. The 1st issue cover is also graded at least excellent featuring raised embossed text at the front and includes the Nazareth Dollar bill (only found on first issues) In my opinion this is a very scarce and highly collectable album to ever find like this!!!
Rampant was the fifth studio album by album by the Scottish rock band Nazareth, released in 1974!!
Nazareth was formed in December 1968 in Dunfermline, Scotland, out of the ashes of semi-professional local group The Shadettes (formed in 1961) by vocalist Dan McCafferty, guitarist Manny Charlton (ex Mark V and The Red Hawks), bassist Pete Agnew, and drummer Darrell Sweet. They took their name from the first line of The Band's classic song "The Weight" ("I pulled into Nazareth / Was feelin' about half past dead...")
The band moved to London, England in 1970, and released their self-titled debut album in 1971. After getting some attention with their second album Exercises, released in 1972, Nazareth issued Razamanaz in early 1973. This collection spawned two UK Top Ten hits, "Broken Down Angel" and "Bad Bad Boy." This was followed by Loud 'N' Proud in late 1973, which contained another hit single with a hard-rocking cover of Joni Mitchell's song "This Flight Tonight." Then came this album on offer Rampant, in 1974, that was equally successful although it did not yield a single. A non-album song, again a cover version, this time of Tomorrow's "My White Bicycle," was a UK Top 20 entry in 1975!!.

The Vinyl
The vinyl is the original early thick and chunky type of vinyl (only 1st press) later issues o this album are much more flimsier type of vinyl! On initial inspection the vinyl looks awesome it is hard to see a blemish, (There are (no) needle\audio sounding marks that I can see at all) only in strong light could possibly any light wispy sleeve removal marks be seen!
The Audio Quality
I have played this track or track at very loud volume on a top system at very loud volume! The first thing to point out is that the audio is truly astounding throughout! Absolutely crystal clear and vibrant, rich deep bassy feel that can only be heard like this, on these early pressings. Top Top Audio on all frequencies! (no) signs of any distortion or that this has been overplayed what so ever !! (no) clicks or pops and certainly no jumps or skips!
Please allow for the odd light static perhaps heard in some quiet places (not consistent throughout the audio) Please remember that this is a 36 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 36 year old system!
The Labels
These feature the earliest Mooncrest labels (only 1st press) are superb! No marks or writing, I can barely see any spidering worth mentioning there is little if no spindle ware the hole is perfectly round, the labels must be at least excellent plus.
The Record Sleeve
This is the original 1st press\issue picture\lyric sleeve has just very minimal creasing with age and a minor split to one side and bottom. It is very clean and has no writing and must rate as at least excellent.
The Cover
This is the original 1st issue cover in excellent condition! There is very minimal storage wear in the form of light rubbing at the corners only really noticeable if looked for! Amazingly there are no creases at the front or rear! This is very rare to find like this indeed, it must be near excellent plus, I doubt you will find many in this condition!
The album also comes complete with the un-peeled FasPrint, Nazarath Rampant Dollar, only first issues, It is in superb condition must be easily excellent plus
THIS ALBUM WILL BE SENT IN A LARGE BOX WITH CARDBOARD STIFFENERS THE VINYL AND COVER WILL BE INSERTED SEPARATELY IN POLY SLEEVES AND WRAPPED WITH PLENTY OF BUBBLEWRAP FOR ADDED PROTECTION.
