NATURAL HIGH – “1” (1979) Chimneyville-204 Monster rare original pressing modern soul album – PROMO! VG++/M- (cover/record)

Wow, here’s a super rarity of modern soul, funk, and groove. I didn’t even know Chimneyville was putting out wax this late. It’s a Malaco Studios production by James Griffin, and the players include Taji Shahid on guitar, Willie James Hatten on bass, Ameen Rasheid on drums, Charles Gilliam on reeds, and Henry Rhodes on lead vocals. I don’t know if this is the same group that put out the scarce singles on Invictus in the early 70s, but this is a wicked piece from the era. Guest musicians include Chalmers Davis on keys, Adib Sabir on percussion, Carson Whitsett on keys, James “Hot Dog” Lewis on keys, Otis White on percussion, and a few background singers. This one almost NEVER turns up.

The tracks are “Dance to the Funk,” “You Make Me So Happy,” “Trust In Me,” “ Come and Go Away with Me,” “Reachin’ Out,” “Time Is Wasting,” “I Think I’m Falling in Love with You,” and “Don’t Be Lonely.” Again, this is a monster piece.

This is an original pressing. The cover has only the slightest hint of ring wear, mostly on the front cover. The vinyl is flawess and is a promo pressing. I grade this conservatively VG++/M- (cover/record).

Winner pays postage. Domestic U.S. shipping is $3.50 media rate or $7 for priority mail (insurance additional and quoted at cost). I will quote overseas postage when overseas winning bidder specifies air/surface mail – a good guideline is $7 for a single LP by surface mail and $12 for a single LP by airmail. Shipping to Japan is a bit higher.

I package all LPs securely in record mailers and remove the vinyl from the covers to prevent seam splits during mailing. I do not just stick your record in a priority mailer box from the post office or between two thin pieces of cardboard with no additional packaging materials like so many others!!! If your winning bid is $100 or more, I will double box this item for added protection at no additional cost to you.

Personal checks are cool for payment but must clear (10 business days). Money orders get next day shipping. Overseas, we'll work this out – I’m really flexible. I accept cash in a registered letter, IMOs, bank checks drawn in US dollars and sent to me from the bank’s U.S. branch (must have magnetic ink U.S. routing numbers printed along bottom), and wire transfers by Western Union. However, I am not able to accept Paypal or any other credit card payment. Please don’t bid and then say you can only pay by paypal – Paypal is not an option for me, and I will leave you negative feedback if you do not complete the transaction by one of the methods noted above.
