Unpacking boxes after moving house and came across another box of LPs! I never bothered to replace my record player when it died a few years ago so why I have hung onto these I don't know - that is the trouble with storage units!
This disc contains two 30 minute editions of the long running radio panel game My Music the companion program to My Word!, and like that show featured comic writers Denis Norden and Frank Muir. Following My Word!'s pattern of two teams of two competing in a series of challenges, based this time on music rather than words, the quiz element was subordinate to the entertainment. In later years each episode featured a final round in which each contestant was required to sing a song, regardless of his vocal ability. This disc has a copyright date of 1988, so probably falls into this category.
The show was hosted for its entire run by composer Steve Race, who also set the challenges (after an early period in which they were set by series creator Edward J. Mason) and provided piano accompaniment where appropriate (except in the first five series, in which accompaniment was provided by Graham Dalley on mellotron). Neither Race nor Wallace missed a single one of the more than 520 episodes broadcast.
It was released, presumably, in the US on the BBC TS label. There is nothing fancy about the packaging - a plain yellow sleeve, but from memory these were rather rare recordings and there doesn't seem to be many on ebay.
I bought this (and the others I am listing) off of ebay from a chap in the States over ten years ago, and was stunned at how clean they were then - second hand records often look like someone has eaten their dinner off of them - and I have only played them a few times so there will be little more than very light surface scratches.
To ensure they get to the winner safe and sound I will be packing them in card mailers with stiffeners in and sending by recorded or special delivery. This isn't the cheapest method, but assuming you bid because you wanted the disc, this is the nearest I can do to guarantee you get it in pristine condition. I will happily send overseas and charge postage at cost, but will use a tracked method such as International Signed For.
PAYMENT IS EXPECTED WITHIN 4 WORKING DAYS OF THE AUCTION END. This allows me to send out as soon as possible.
POSTAGE:
UK: The price listed (as ebay cap it) is for items selling under £46 only.
If the item sells for less than £46, it will be covered in the UK using Recorded Delivery and is sort of tracked. If lost then the loss will be limited to £46. I recommend insurance to cover the total it sells for and Special Delivery is available and flexible, for additional cost (£7 covers the mailer, stiffeners and insurance up to £500, and is next day, so you get your hands on the item quicker!).
OVERSEAS: This will vary by country and can range from £10 - £20 depending on where you are and what service is available. Insurance also varies, so please check with me beforehand - I have given and indication in the listing but, like investments, can go up or down :)
It often works out cheaper to send more discs in a parcel than one on its own so be sure to check out my other auctions.
