VG+/VG(+)
Mercury Living Presence "Colorback", Mercury Living Presence Label, RFR2/RFR2 Stampers, Recorded in the Cass Technical High School, Detroit, November 18-19, 1960.
All Star Technical Personnel: Wilma Cozart, Recording Director; Harold Lawrence Musical Supervisor; C.R. Fine Recording Engineer; George Piros, Tape to Disk Transfer.
Cover Condition is Very Good Plus (VG+). Writing in ink on back cover, cover has a small sticker on front, light edge wear, small corner dents. Includes Mercury Living Presence Original Inner Sleeve
Vinyl Condition is a strong Very Good or VG(+). Vinyl has a few shallow scuffs you can feel with a fingernail on Side 2; Side 1 is VG+. Labels have some scuffing around spindle hole.
Vinyl Play Evaluation: This is a vibrant recording and pressing. Nice separation of instruments on the loud dynamic passages (avoids congestion); plays with low level surface noise and occasional pop or crackle. Side1, Track 2 has 3 pops; the beginning of side 2 has 10 repetitive pops, no evidence of groove damage, plays a decent VG+.
I use play grading to supplement the visual grade. Playback varies by setup; I am using a Linn LP12/Ekos/Benz Glider high output cartridge.
You can listen below to a stream of an undoctored 128kbps audio sample of the complete album.
All Pictures are taken of the actual item for sale.
Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to see more pictures.
Grading: I follow the Goldmine Record Grading Standard (Cover/Vinyl) with the addition of EX to indicate something in between VG+ and NM. VG(+) is a low VG+. A VG+ record will not disappoint.
