Description

10 sides of energetic, funky samba soul from Brazil on brand new, heavy vinyl! Exclusive for Record Store Day August 2020 drop.

Near mint, like new condition.  Played once.  I have even preserved the shrink wrap with shop stickers (from Rough Trade East, London), carefully cutting the plastic open in the back.

Great stuff, great sound, just not really my vibe.

Limited Edition Clamshell Box which doubles up as a DJ boxfor your Brazil 45s collection. We've been toying with the idea ofcollaborating with a guest selector for the Brazil 45 series since itsinception in 2014, but up until now the timing has never been quite right. Thatall changed following a recent digging trip to Brazil, where upon our return DJFormat was first into the office, full of excitement and enthusiasm (portablerecord player in hand), ready to bust open the boxes and see what treats we hadunearthed. Straight away we knew that alongside being one of the UK's premierrecord collectors, producers and DJs, he had the passion and knowledge thatwould result in a totally unique take on a Brazil 45 collection. Brazil hassuch a rich multi-genre musical heritage that sometimes it can be hard forcurators to decide on where to focus.DJ Format has a very distinct stamp to hisown productions and mixtapes, and that can be clearly seen in the coherenttheme he has applied to his selections for this release. He has chosen 10funk-psyche-break-beat Brazilian nuggets from the '60s and early '70s andincluded wonderful artists such as The Modern Tropical Quintet, Manito,Free-son, and Marisa Rossi, to name a few. It is a body of work that fitstogether perfectly and shines a light on some perhaps forgotten artists thatdeserve attention and praise. This collection will appeal to fans of DJ Format,those with a knowledge of Brazilian music, and even the first time buyer justwanting to discover something new. This special limited Record Store Day 5 x45s collection comes in a box designed by Owen Tozer.
