Mozart Soprano Arias Rita Streich DGG SLPEM 136028 Red Stereo ED1
This collection contains soprano arias written for Aloisia Weber (sister of Mozart’s wife, Kontanze), and are KV 538, 583, 316, 416, 418, 419 and 383. They are performed by Rita Streich with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra conducted by Charles Mackerras. A German stereo pressing on the Deutsche Grammophon Label (SLPM 136 028), the labels have a tulip border and logo with “alle hersteller” at 2 o’clock. The record is of excellent appearance, and plays and sounds superb with a minimum of surface noise. The cover has rubbed a little with small creases along the spine edge, and there is a ring mark and other wear on the back.
