Now, Motown may have recently released the Chris Clark Anthology (which contains all these tracks and more), and as good as that release is, there's nothing like owning the LP . . . and here it is, from 1967, a rare original US release of "Soul Sounds".
Berry Gordy really wanted to break Chris, and even produced some of the tracks for her, but when they sunk, H-D-H, and Smokey Robinson had a go, but success was not to be; however, today, she is fondly remembered as the white platinum blonde, with the big voice - and it's her voice, which is somewhere between jazz, blues, pop and the motown sound, which make this LP unique.
The Lp has a bright glossy shine, and is virtually free of any marks, but i'll refrain from grading it NM (although some would say so) and I'll grade it EX.
The cover shows some sign of ring wear, and there's wear on all three seams. There are no drill holes or cut corners. Grade: - VG+++
The inner sleeve is original motown.
This is a great addition to any Motown/Soul collection.
Post and packing to the UK is £2.50, Europe £3.50, Rest of world £5.50.
Good luck with the bidding...
