Description
Circa 1977 - Early /Vintage Motorhead's Classic Rock LP entitled "White Vinyl Fever"
Presented on the Chiswick recording label - Catalogue number CWK 3008.(Please see photo's).This is a sought after copy..
The albums sleeve is, for its age is somewhat well preserved given that it is predominantly black in colour, showing only minimal signs of wear (slight buffering marks) to the outer edges and corners, the spine is good and there are no rips,tears or writing present. There is a storage/age related "ring mark" present when the albums outer sleeve is held towards bright light - but nothing spoiling here.Please see photo's.
The inner sleeve is a factory pressed paper based picture sleeved insert insert and is in good condition. It features a collection of black and white photographs
The Vinyl:
Side "A"
A close visual examination under bright lighting conditions reveals several surface marks and a series of light in character, minor surface scratches(some being consistent with sleeve insertion/removal of the LP) , I have therefore played this side twice and on my audio equipment the sound reproduction is of good quality. Of note though, as with any vinyl - even new, one can detect the occasional pop or crack - this is marginally evident on track one (Motorhead) on an intermittent basis for around the first 10 - 15 seconds, again, at no time though notwithstanding the marks I have described, did the music jump/skip or stick on any of the tracks on side one. (please see photos as I have tried to capture the marks but with white vinyl it is very difficult due to their lightness in character.
On the play - off section of Side A the words "CHOP AND SNIFF" and the matrix number CWK + 3008 + A have been etched on in bold print by hand.
Side "B"
Similarly, close visual examination under bright lighting conditions on side B reveals several surface marks and a series of light in character, minor surface scratches (again some being consistent with sleeve insertion/removal of the LP) , there is also what appears to be a factory flaw in the white coluring to the vinyl, this is a small black spec that is visible but does not impact on the audio reproduction - I have managed to capture this on a close up photo. I have therefore also played this side twice and on my audio equipment the sound reproduction is of good quality. Of note though, as with any vinyl - even new, one can detect the occasional pop or crack which can be a source of irritation especially when noticeable on intro's and play-offs, again fortunately due to the very nature of the music played - loud, any pops and crackles are extremely well hidden on this side - again, at no time though notwithstanding the marks I have described, did the music jump/skip or stick on any of the tracks on side two. (please see photos as I have tried to capture the marks but it is difficult due to their lightness in character).Please note, the vinyl on Side B when placed on the turntable does not sit as true as on Side A indicating a slight aspect of warping - this is though minor in nature and again, does not impact at all on the audio reproduction.
On the play - off section of Side B the words "WHITE VINYL FEVER" and the matrix number CWK + 3008 + B have been etched on in bold print by hand.
Both labels are in good clean order and for its age this LP is in very good condition.
