I bought this album brand new on 6 February 1982 from Quicksilver Records in Reading. I paid £6.99 for it, which was a lot of money for an album back then! It was priced higher because it was a US import.
It was only a few years ago, while logging my collection onto Discogs, that I realised I had something special. This is the second version of the original release on the independent Leathur Records label. There's plenty of useful information online about these rare and highly collectable versions of the album, so I won't go into detail here, other than to say that my copy is in absolutely mint and immaculate overall condition. I've always looked after my things very carefully and I can guarantee you won't find a finger mark on this record. I've owned high quality turntables and cartridges/stylii since I was a teenager, which have always been properly set-up in terms of tracking weight and forces, so the record would not have been damaged by a poorly aligned stylus etc. Obviously, the Decca inner sleeve isn't original and this is because I always 'upgraded' the inner sleeves to my records from the plain opaque ones generally supplied. I doubt if you'll find a copy of this album with much better provenance.
