From Verve Records (V-5013) this is ABSOLUTELY FREE by THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION, recorded November 16-18, 1966, at Sunset-Highland Studios of TTG and released 26 May 1967; playing time, 38:29. It is an original (first) US mono Pressing with matrix showing MG 672 (side one) and MG 673 (side two). In addition, this is the ultra-rare jacket without the title stated on front cover -- almost impossible to find.
Gatefold shows its age but remains sturdy and attractive with no outstanding flaws (solid EX+); original inner sleeve shows minor fading but has no tears or wrinkles. Labels show numerous spindle marks and the playing surfaces have a few hairlines and some imperfections probably from the factory. It visually grades about VG but plays well with minimal and low-level surface noise between cuts and in quiet passages; absolutely no distortion even in the dynamic passages and even when you crank the volume. There are no pops or annoying clicks and certainly no skips. This baby play-grades at least VG+, much higher in most places, even to NEAR MINT.
Overall, a remarkable piece, a copy that comes along about once every 40 years! Highly recommended.
