Description
The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.
I accept returns and offer a full refund if you are not happy with your purchase.
Morrissey - 'Vauxhall And I' UK Vinyl LP - 1994
Catalogue No. PCSD 148 - Parlophone Records
This auction is for an original 1994 vinyl pressing of 'Vauxhall And I', which was ranked at Number 45 in the 2009 Record Collector article describing its 'Top 50' Morrissey collectables. Further details regarding its desirability to collectors can be found in the above article, in which it was suggested that the album "has been hailed by many as the most important work of his solo career". Part of the reason for its appearance in this collectable list is likely to be attributable to declining sales of vinyl at the time, which would have meant relatively few pressings in comparison to the CD format. Undoubtedly, the sheer desirability of the album itself has also lessened its availability as copies are snapped up by collectors and fans. The record is very nicely packaged, with a glossy lyric/picture inner sleeve and a gatefold outer sleeve which opens to reveal a double-spread picture of Morrissey (see photo). This example is complete with its original inner sleeve, and has been kept in superb condition (see below). The vinyl and labels are in strong excellent condition, having seen only light play and having just a few superficial surface marks which can be seen if the record is held to the light, but which do not affect play; the vinyl retains its glossy new-looking 'sheen'. The picture inner sleeve is also in strong excellent condition, with no writing, tears or splits at all; having benefitted from the record being strored outside of the inner sleeve. The outer gatefold sleeve is in near mint condition and shows no signs of wear other than very light corner wear in places. The spine and edges are sharp and uncreased, and the mouth of the sleeve is crisp and straight. In fact there are no significant creases anywhere, and there is neither any 'ringwear' or seam splitting. A truly impressive item which has been preserved in remarkable condition. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
All my auctions start at 1P and have NO RESERVE. They are all 100% genuine, original versions. Some are in mint/new condition and some are used; all will go to the highest bidder. I offer a money-back guarantee if anything is described incorrectly. Postage and Packing is 2.50 in the UK for untracked and uninsured standard postage, this is subsidised by myself and the actual costs to me will usually be higher. Please do consider paying the extra 70p for tracked postage since there is nothing that can be done to find out what happened if the parcel is lost when standard postage is chosen. Shipping costs are greater for overseas buyers, but still subsidised and very good value; please check prices by using the options above or feel free to ask. Extra items are sent at no extra postage charge to the buyer (see below). I always take great care to package items well with strong mailing materials.See my other auctions for related rare items here. If multiple auctions are won at the same time (within a week), I will charge only the postage cost for the heaviest item and pay the remaining postage myself. This is the case wherever you live.
