Description

The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.
I accept returns and offer a full refund if you are not happy with your purchase.

Morrissey - 'Interesting Drug' 1 Track Etched Promo 12" - 1989

Catalogue no. SPM 29 - HMV Records

The regular single release of 'Interesting Drug' was promoted with the more familiar 3-Track promo 12" with red sleeve and large 'A' and 'B' red labels. This auction is for the much rarer 'black label' 12" which was issued in very limited numbers to promote the etched 12" version of 'Interesting Drug' which came in a brown tinted version of the picture sleeve. Although this etched 12" release had 2 tracks, this special promo 12" has only one track with the Oscar Wilde 'Motor Cycle Au Pair Boy' etching on the reverse. Allegedly this promo 12" was released to coincide with Morrissey's 29th Birthday, which is consistent with the unusual catalogue number of Morrissey's initials combined with the number 29. This promotional record is unique in the form of the black label used on the 'A' side, and the etching which appears on the run-out groove which reads "Hosscah! Hosscah!; this is not the same as appears on the commercial etched 12" version, which read "What Kind Of Man Reads Denim Delinquent?", and only appears on this black label promotional 12". The black die-cut outer sleeve is the original sleeve in which this 12" was issued, and the record is a very rare authentic Morrissey collectable which is getting very hard to obtain and was ranked as highly as Number 22 in the 'Top 50' Morrissey collectables list in 2009.

The record is in strong excellent condition, with just the lightest of superficial 'hairline' surface marks in a few places which can only be seen if the record is held to the light, and is very close to mint. The black label has one 'defect' in the form of a line on the label which was a product of its manufacture rather than subsequent wear; this can be seen in the accompanying photo and does not detract too significantly from the aesthetic quality of the item. The original black die-cut sleeve is intact and shows practically no signs of wear and is hence in near mint condition. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.

All my auctions start at 1P and have NO RESERVE. They are all 100% genuine, original versions. Some are in mint/new condition and some are used; all will go to the highest bidder. I offer a money-back guarantee if anything is described incorrectly. Postage and Packing is 2.50 in the UK for untracked and uninsured standard postage, this is subsidised by myself and the actual costs to me will usually be higher. Please do consider paying the extra 70p for tracked postage since there is nothing that can be done to find out what happened if the parcel is lost when standard postage is chosen. Shipping costs are greater for overseas buyers, but still subsidised and very good value; please check prices by using the options above or feel free to ask. Extra items are sent at no extra postage charge to the buyer (see below). I always take great care to package items well with strong mailing materials.

See my other auctions for related rare items here. If multiple auctions are won at the same time (within a week), I will charge only the postage cost for the heaviest item and pay the remainder myself. This is the case wherever you live. If you are planning to bid, but cannot be around at the end of the auction, I have found this free site to be useful; note that I am not affiliated with the site in any way!
