Description
"A Tribute to the Black Emperors" is a split LP by the Black Metal bands Morbid and Mayhem. It was originally released in 1994 and this looks like the 2005 repress. "A Tribute to the Black Emperors" is a notable release, as there are not many recordings of Morbid and Mayhem vocalist, Dead (Per Ohlin). The four tracks on side one are the Morbid demo, "December Moon" (1987). Side two consists of the only two studio recordings of the Euronymous / Dead / Hellhammer / Necrobutcher classic lineup (both of which were on a compilation album and one also made the lineup for the "Nordic Metal" tribute album to Euronymous), plus two other Mayhem tracks, "Necrolust" (from Deathcrush) and a live version of "Funeral Fog" (from Live in Leipzig) with Dead on vocals.
The vinyl is VG+ with a bit of light crackling and a few ticks here and there. I just listened to it and it plays great with no skips or issues. The jacket is VG+ with some light shelf and ring wear. There are a few small creases by the spine and some wear/creasing in the upper left hand corner, and some light wear on the other corners (see photos).
This album is classic, raw, early Black Metal and would be a great addition to any fan's collection. Comes from a non-smoking home. Thanks!
