First of all: Sorry for the blurry picture. When taking this picture and the picture for my other current auctions they all came to look like this. I think my camera is now defunct, as it still takes pictures like this. This is of course only the picture, and the descriptions should speak for themselves. As always, I guarantee all the records I sell! I took picture of some of the records for my current auctions, which is why some of pictures are ok.

This is the Norwegian jazz-rock group Moose Loose's self-titled (or as it says on the back "Elgen er løs" ("The moose is loose")) lp released on Mai, catalogue no. 7403. It includes a booklet with a biography of both the record company and Moose Loose (in Norwegian). As seen in the picture, it also includes the original paper innersleeve, cut at all four corners.

When looking at the record in the light of my 60 watt table lamp, which I feel is very good at detecting dirt and such, and my 50 watt halogen spots, which reveals even the slightest hairlines, I can see some light grey streaks. I see these on almost all records pressed in the US in the 60's and early 70's, but I've also seen them on a few non-US pressed records. When it comes to the amount of scratches I would visually grade side A of this record Mint- on Record Collector's grading scale: Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor, Bad! Simply one of the nicest second hand records I've ever bought!! I think I have bought less than 10 second hand records that I would grade Mint- (or mint for that sake)!

Side B has an area with very, very small inaudible surface scratches in the first track. Side B also has a small handful of other very light surface scratch besides that area. The rest of side B I would say Mint- as well! Overall, I would grade side B as Excellent.

When playing the record on my Thorens TD-126 Mk III Centennial record player with an Ortofon MC20 Super MkII needle, Marantz PM 7000 amp and Audio Vector C1 speakers I can hear very light VERY occasional crackle, during the songs when I put my head right next to the speaker. During the mellow parts of the music it's more evident. When putting my head next to the speaker I can also hear that the sound is also very, very slightly unclean on side A. Although I've heard super presses from the 90's that didn't have as much as one tick on it, my experience with records from the 60's and 70's is that they almost all sound like this one, and usually have more, and louder, pops and ticks than this one – this is clearly one of the better sounding records I've heard from that era. I've bought sealed records that sounded worse than this one! I'm also quite sure that the sound quality of this record is due to an inferior pressing and not manhandling, as it comes from a collection where I saw almost all of the 1100 records the guy sold in a second hand shop and all of them were superbly well kept!

The cover has light general wear, mostly around the edges. It also has two very light sticker tears on the back (in both top corners), and the top spine has become slightly unglued and bent near the opening, but this can easily be repaired with a glue. Overall VG, maybe VG+ on Record Collector's scale: Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor, Bad. To me Very Good doesn't mean trashed as it seams to do to some sellers. Very Good means Very Good! Most of the second hand record covers I find from this era I would grade as VG.

I grade accurate and honest as I hate buying records myself that are graded as EX/VG+ or something and getting a record that has noise through all the tracks. I play grade every record I sell (except for sealed ones), as I feel that a visual grade doesn’t cut it. A record can look great but be trashed and also the other way around! No offence to any seller, but I think a lot of people don't know how to grade visually (I can't say by eye if a record will sound very good or excellent either). It seams like a lot of people just take out the record, look at it quickly (with no use of bright lights) and then slap on some high grade to increase the interest! I also feel that if you don’t grade a record correct, why even bother to grade it at all? When I buy a record here at Ebay that's graded excellent or something, it usually has noise during the tracks, which isn't excellent in my book! A grade should sound like the name it has. Very Good should sound very good, not have noise through all the tracks – no matter how it looks! Whenever I see a record graded near mint or mint, I simply do not believe it and I advise you not to trust it either! All grades are 100% guaranteed!
