Description

Moondog -self titled album on Original U.K. Esquire 32-055 . No date but Ithink It was released In 1959 . Boy was this guy ahead of his time ! this sounds like It could have been recorded anytime , It Is timeless music that still sounds fresh and contemporary , his unusual take on rhythm has helped but his whole approach to evey Idea Is stimulating and Invigorating. some of the sleevenotes read ; If you are a hi fi buff Moondog will " fuse " well with your system . Two of the Instruments used In this album were Invented by Moondog , Oo - a triangular stringed Instrument struck with a clava , Trimba - a triangular -shaped drum , need I say more ! Tracks / a duet - Queen Elizabeth whistle and bamboo pipe , conversation and music at 51st street and 6th avenue (New York City ), hardshoe ( 7/4) - Ray Malone , tugboat tocatta , Autumn ,seven beat suite (3 parts ) , Oo solo ( 6/4) , rehearsal of Violetta's " barefoot dance " , (a) portrait of Ninon , a cocker spaniel , Oo solo (2/4) ,ostrich feathers played on drums , Oboe round , chant , all is loneliness , sextet ( Oo) , fiesta piano solo , Moondog monologue . Record Is In Mint condition , Laminated sleeve Ex ( some slight creasing and general wear but this is expected with these late 50's Esquire sleeves which were pretty fragile , but I would say this Is In pretty good shape all things considered ).
