Monster psych! 100% UNKNOWN FIBERS Odd Lots Private Press US 1970 VERY RARE!

Hand-stamped cover shows age but is pretty much near mint.  Record has blank labels, and again is near mint!

Rare live LP documenting the Laguna Beach (California) Christmas Happening festival in December 1970. The festival featured a lot of local unknown underground psych bands, and was closely tied to legendary LSD distributors the Brotherhood of Eternal Love.  The record shows no track list or credits whatsoever, and the cover has a simple rubber stamp in the bottom right corner (as detailed in our pictures below).  Bands include Live Wire, Sound Spectrum and Primal Scream, as well as the legendary Sea & East Utopian Mission, but gives no details of their performances.   “100% Unknown Fibers” is a very primitive recording, with raw acid-dosed jams with lots of fuzz leads.  One track has a trancey folkrock feeling, including flute.  Collectively, it is reminiscent of some of the Yahowa 13 basement jams, like those heard on “I’m Gonna Take You Home”, minus Father Yod.  There are some nice grooves and feedback soloing here and there.  It’s hard to determine how many different groups are featured on the album, but Patrick Lundborg of Acid Archives has documented that there are at least four.   Stage announcements regarding LSD overdoses and anti-war rants are interwoven with crowd ambience, hovering police helicopters, and raw, improvised music, to capture a special moment in time, warts and all.
