Brendan Lukens and Jake Ewald were high school friends from Brunswick, Maryland who began as an acoustic duo before relocating to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to attend college; Lukens at Chestnut Hill College, and Ewald at Drexel University. They then met drummer Sean Huber and bassist Ian Farmer. Huber and Farmer joined midway into the recording of the group's first album, which was recorded at Drexel's studios. That album, Sports, was released in 2012, and soon after the group left Drexel and Chestnut Hill temporarily to pursue music on a more regular basis. The group's second full-length, You're Gonna Miss It All, was released on Run For Cover Records in 2014, reaching #97 on the Billboard 200. The group did a nationwide tour in early 2014 with The Wonder Years.
Modern Baseball are set to embark on tour within United Kingdom in September 2014. The tour includes stops in Scotland, Wales, England, Northern Ireland and concludes in Belfast. The band recently spoke ahead of their tour describing how they manage their busy schedules.
