Mega-rare private press radio transcription disc with Dutch contemporary experimental works. Especially notable are the rare wind orchestra composition by Mengelberg (better known for his free jazz work) and the piece by De Vries which has the different players playing against each other in multiple contrasting tempos. The performers are the orchestra De Volharding, Ed Bogaard, saxophone, the Hilversum Radio Chamber Orchestra conducted by Ed Spanjaard, soprano Illeana Melita, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra conducted by Lucas Vis, and George Pieterson, bassethorn.

Dutch-Ukrainian pianist and conceptual composer Mengelberg leads the ICP Orchestra/Instant Composers Pool, worked as director of the BIM/BIMHuis and STEIM music organizations, and has performed and recorded as an avant garde jazz pianist with Han Bennink, Willem Breuker, Eric Dolphy, Evan Parker, Peter Brotzmann, Cecil Taylor, and Derek Bailey for labels such as FMP/SAJ, Hat Art, Bvhaast, Soul Note, Incus, and Tzadik; he was a student of Kees van Baaren in the 1960s (along with Louis Andriessen, Mengelberg, Schat, van Vlijmen, and de Leeuw) and his early influences included John Cage, Charlie Parker, and Thelonious Monk. Eisma is a Dutch-Indonesian violinist, composer, and pioneer of electroacoustic and live electronic techniques who studied under Francois Steenhuis, Kees van Baaren, Goffredo Petrassi, Jewsey Wulf, and Oskar Back, and cites Karlheinz Stockhausen, Penderecki, Luciano Berio, Bruno Maderna, Franco Evangelisti, Bela Bartok, Anton Webern, Edgard Varese, and Igor Stravinsky as influences; he is a member of the Instrumental Circuitry Ensemble, which performs works by Eisma, Tera de Marez Oyens, Earle Brown, and Mauricio Kagel.
